![]() Late Night Lineups: October 6-10Posted by Paul Little | Monday, October 6, 2008 @ 7:12amSorry about missing last week. By the time I realized this oversight, it was already mid-week, and the post would've been nearly pointless. But here we go again with another week of great late night comedy and some potentially great interviews. First up, of course, is the list of who you don't want to miss no matter what. There are actually quite a few great guests booked this week, but here are my top 5 picks: The Amazing Race 13: Do You Like American Candy?Posted by Ariana Heppner | Monday, October 6, 2008 @ 4:02amBig ups to my good pal Sarah for her stellar recap last week, which allowed me to finish packing pre-move. And now, I’m all moved in and here to recap this episode, which is titled as it is due to Marisa & Brooke offering some marginally cute airline employee some candy in hopes he’ll... book their flight faster? I don’t know. A good 20 minutes at the beginning of the episode are wasted on nonsensical and boring airport shenanigans, so I’m in a bit of a daze from it. We stay in Brazil for this whole episode as teams fly from Salvadore to Fortaleza. We’re treated to interview discussions of their various respective relationships. The only sensible thing to come of this is the comment made by Mark & Bill that they don’t have the same relationship drama that other teams may have, because at the end of all this, they don’t have to go home and live together. Survivor Gabon: She Obviously is Post-OpPosted by Erik Reichenbach | Friday, October 3, 2008 @ 9:20pmTears, a little sass, and lot of fighting in the dirt; yeah, there were some good moments in this second episode of Survivor Gabon. Although the challenges had a few dramatic moments, (hanging onto a pole for dear life and gliding down an over-sized slip and slide) the drama involved in the social implications of the game are starting to develop beautifully. Here's the episode overview: SYTYCD Canada: Top 20Posted by Ariana Heppner | Friday, October 3, 2008 @ 7:03pmWelcome to your first interactive So You Think You Can Dance Canada discussion post! Each week following the results show on Thursday, I’ll post a brief rundown of what went down that week and how I feel about it (which I know you’re just dying to hear), and then we here at Showbiz Monkeys want to hear what you have to say. If you’re watching, come on in for a chat! We were introduced to our Top 20 dancers this week. Here they are: House: Adverse EventsPosted by Sarah Miller | Friday, October 3, 2008 @ 3:52amThis week we are treated to a special guest appearance by Breckin Meyer, Taub gets a shiny new car and the new dynamic duo of House and Sherlock treats us to a jam session full of sharp dialogue and bluesy licks. Oh yeahhhh. Bones: Crank in the ShaftPosted by Jolee Alberts | Thursday, October 2, 2008 @ 9:43pmJust when you think this show's Gross-Out Factor can't go any higher... An office manager is found mangled in an elevator shaft. It's nasty, and Booth says so. There is an office-load of suspects, and I'm not going to go through them all. 90210: Model BehaviorPosted by Mandi Barnett | Wednesday, October 1, 2008 @ 2:41amHappy October! All of the drama kings and queens in Beverly Hills are convening at the Pacific Coast Fashion Show – this includes nearly all of the main characters on our show. VIFF 2008 Interview: Weeds creator Jenji KohanPosted by Mark McLeod | Tuesday, September 30, 2008 @ 7:28amIt's hard to believe that this is my fifth year covering the Vancouver International Film Festival as a member of the press. It's even harder to believe that in those 5 years, with my love of movies in just about every conceivable way from the business to the creative, I up until this year hadn't even attended one session at the "Film and TV Forum", a series of industry sessions that run over the first few days of the festival at the Vancity Theatre. There had been sessions in the past that had interested me but for whatever reason it always took a back seat. However, that would all change this year when during the festival’s opening press conference it was announced that the mastermind of one of my favorite current television programs would be a keynote speaker, someone whose name I would not have even known 6 months back but boy do I know it now. New Music Releases: September 30th, 2008Posted by Sarah Miller | Tuesday, September 30, 2008 @ 1:33amBen Folds Way To Normal (Amazon) This is the third full length solo album from piano bad-ass Ben Folds. If you’re not already familiar with him, I suggest you march yourself down to a record store and purchase Whatever and Ever Amen by Ben Folds Five as soon as humanly possible. Way to Normal features a duet with Regina Spektor, a song about falling off the stage in the middle of a concert and more of the same emotional depth, wry humor and kick butt piano rock fans have come to expect from Folds over the years. The Amazing Race: Bees are Much Calmer than All This!Posted by Sarah Miller | Monday, September 29, 2008 @ 12:26amWelcome to Season 13 of the Amazing Race everybody! Just a little disclaimer, I’m not going to be the regular recapper (recapist?) for this season, I’m just filling in for Ariana who is taking a short sabbatical from TV land. Don’t worry, she’ll be back next week and I’ll do my best to get through the introductions of all the teams for you. So here we go! This season kicks of from Los Angeles. The teams get to travel by classic car to Los Angeles Coliseum, the starting line of this Race, and the only place to host the Olympics twice. And the teams are:
